Old post, but I have to say that I love the rescript... I've done a couple of these 'alternate versions' in the past and they are usually great fun.
That's too good. Is there some kind of Michael/Cain thing going here that Nemi knows about in the second to the last panel? XD I think something else happened in the hot springs bath that only Nemi could overhear. ^_-

Theory 2: There is an alternate SF universe from which Renault comes, where he was Madou.
*Just a couple examples of why that theory will not go away... even though I believe something entirely different.*
I'm surprised I haven't gotten the 'Renault and Madou must be related' theory from anyone at all. Cloning would apparently be more believable?? XD
Kinda embarrassing, that... which may be why there aren't many people walking around asking if other people are clones.
And the livestream was a bit short, so no worries XD; it was rather lively and there was much talk for some reason about Cain's butt XDD;;;

Well one is surender Cain, but the other?
Do they want Kylie to stop her cosine from reporting his findings? Or maybe they want Kylie to stop looking for her brother? That would fit in to my "Kylie's brother is/is involved with Able" theory. Or maybe they want Mike to stop tring to revive Jinn, though I don't know why that would be so importent....
Otherwise unless it's something like "drop your weapons" or "don't look for Cain once we take them" I have no idea.
Anyhow, I really enjoyed the Livestream even though I had to leave part way through. I'm glad I happened to check FB this morning (because I typically don't).
They were trying to steal the book from that bombastic emperor so he still has it right? Why would the party have it? If they had it then THEY would have stole it. Or was there a line I forgot where he gave the book to the party? If so your right it's definitely the book.
Edit: Seia has it. So I guess it's possible... but it's not like he's with them.

Also I'm wondering whether Nemi'll try to do something about Leela. She seems really concerned about his worries and well-being.
As for the alt-text: Now THAT actually depends on circumstances.
Nearly forgot about this. Madou.. was investigating essentially what was going on with kylie and the town she destroyed. He finds runes engraved in blood on a destroyed surface.
EDIT - looking back, noone has touched his bare skin yet either, always through gloves or some other sort of material. Recall before with Jinn, his skin was cold from being necroed.
Now, leela is using runes to attack the party, given to her by madou. Adding this in with the mysterous stranger who weve been calling as either madou himself or evil, ive come to a couple of guesses.
1. Renault = Reanimated corpse from Leela the necromancer waiting to spring a trap on the party. Most likely on Cain since hes the target of their attack. Madou was looking into a new rune found supposedly near where kylie went berserk and destroyed a town. My assumption is Seia (bad spelling probably) used a sealing spell/rune of sorts to contain her lcf energy from spreading further. The type of thing that would be useful to seal a priests powers so he cant heal during a fight. If renault is working in conjunction with Ren, Cain atm is defenseless and within grabbing distance of renault. The fire trap could have been on purpose to lure cain in close for renault to seal his energy.
Other possibility for the seal if seia didnt do it, is Kylie did it herself, as in alot of the flashbacks she has when she tries to cast her lethylace ( again spelling, sorry rufi) shows her looking at her hands covered in blood particularly near the finger tips, and in at least 1 of them, they show a finger tracing the rune design out. And madous recon collaborates this a little bit as the piece of stone he finds with the rune on it seems to be written in blood ( or what i assume to be a rune anyway)
Lots of maybes and ifs. But i think some of it holds water =p
And no worries, your spelling of Seia was correct! :) Lethiace, well, you were close XDD no worries!
I think Ren is one of the people who Abel was talking to in an earlier page?...I might have him mixed up but ohboy.
And story twists... haha, the readers have been coming up with crazy ones in the comments to the extent I feel like the truth is extremely mundane XDDD
And yep, Ren was the one Abel was speaking to at the end of chapter two and four. :)
