For the truly bored, the system of different level seals is mentioned back in Strip 36, though only briefly so. There is a system in place, but without boring you too much with details, each level comes with different benefits. Also, if Sho is wearing a Gold Level Seal, then it will trump any Silver Level Seal... but if he's wearing a Silver or lower, then Kylie's team will cancel out his seal's effects. Kylie assumes they're going to be lucky, since a Silver Level Seal costs an arm and a leg, to say nothing of the cost of a Gold Level Seal.

Gold beats silver... Makes sense. :)

And lol @ Cain. What's he afraid of? Will it mess with his chains or something? Or dose he just wish to avoid fighting Sho?

Haha, actually... he just doesn't want a piercing. XD It's that simple!

Uh, does it have to pierce? or is it enough to have skin contact?

Well, I believe she wants to be healed quickly.

As it is a piercing, it does need to be properly worn for the mana aid to properly work. It is more secure that way as well, so... :P

Kylie is healed already, as a side-note, from Seia's potions. For the inevitable re-clash with Sho, however, she is keen on Cain being actually useful. XD

Doesn't have to be an ear, it could be a nose. ;-)

Hahaha!! I'm sure Cain's thrilled with having options... XD

R.I.P. Cain. Knowing Kylie she will do the piercing with her sword, and divine favor lasts only so long.

Hahahaha, you are right in saying that she will do the piercing for him... XD

If you insist, here is some copy-pasta of notes I made regarding seals in Archaeia. XD; Hope you find it interesting:

1. You first need a piece of equipment or a weapon that has a 'slot' in it. By this, it means that the weapon is made of a compatible material to the 'slot' section, and at least that part of the weapon must be made of an ore that can carry a seal.

2. Different ores carry different seals. Amber-star ores are capable of holding gold-level seals, for example. Basic materials, such as iron or copper, can only be used with low-level ores, such as Orange- or Lemon-stars.

3. A 'seal' is essentially a stat-booster, a charm/amulet or an additional skill-set. Different levels are capable of different things. A seal must first be 'imprinted' onto a stone. The imprint is done through runes, not magic. This stone acts as a 'storage' box of sorts, containing the stat-boost, charm or skill set. It is NOT a magic spell. This is a 'seal'. And this 'stone' is, of course, an 'ore'.

4. A seal must then be input into a 'slot' section, whereupon it will enact its effect without causing direct harm (as it is a very powerful stone and will cause nasty side-effects if worn without a layer of protection of sorts). To stick it in, however, a certain procedure must happen (this is a form of 'Focus' - it takes precision, pressure and a blast of heat to get it right). This is called 'Locking' it in. Seals imbue inanimate objects with an ability that transfers to its user, but direct contact doesn't just not work - it hurts! And that's why...

5. After the seal has been inserted with Focus, the seal needs to be 'sealed in' using special linen that sticks to the seal and keeps it in contact with the item. The wrap should be tight! Alternatively, the seal can be locked in by melting metal directly around it. (Seia's weapon, and his mana aid, are examples of this.) Seals cannot be replaced in those kinds of items, however, for obvious reasons.

6. For elemental imbues, an elemental stone is required to fuse with a normal bit of ore. These are almost always of a temporary nature, which is why the Lethian Knight's abilities are highly prized.

Have to wonder then if that gold ore Cain purified is going to become plot relevant later...

Hahaha, technically he didn't even have it available until Kylie punctured one into him! XD
